The Comeback

Before a Finnish company by the name of Nokia became the brand to challenge against, the brand of choice for anyone eyeing on a mobile phone was Motorola. For the better part of the last decade, Nokia has been sitting firmly as the market leader in mobile phones despite a host of brands battling to challenge its dominance. Over the past year or so, the gap between Nokia and other brands that was once comfortably wide is in recent time shrinking fast with brands such as LG, Samsung, Siemens and Motorola closing fast on the brand that is synonymous with user-friendly interface and designs. Apart from vastly improving user interface, expanding the envelope of industrial design is getting more attention from manufacturers and consumers. Evident of this trend if you could recall, was the Razr V3, a handsome and ultra sleek mobile phone by Motorola that awed many in late 2004. Along with that handset, Motorola sent out a clear message that they too have the capability to create award winning designs. With Motorola's heritage of highly acclaimed models such as the StarTAC series and V3688 under its name, it seems the company's confidence is soaring high once more and we expect nothing short of a major comeback from this US based company.
