Sporting an easy-to-use OSD interface and analog plug-and-play compatibility, the Hansol 520F 15-inch TFT LCD Monitor is versatile as well as sleek in design. This Hansol monitor can be wall-mounted and has a wide viewing-angle (140-degrees horizontal/115-degrees vertical) for standard and touch applications.
The Hansol 520F also has a response time of only 25ms and a contrast ratio of 300:1 for better image clarity and sharpness. It can display 16.7 million colors with high brightness (250cd/m˛). User controls include: power switch, menu, select, left key/right key, auto-adjustment, factory pre-set. The five language onscreen display (OSD) feature H/V position, horizontal/vertical, phase brightness, contrast, color temperature, RGB and advanced option.
Various control buttons located on the beige-white-colored monitor include one main on/off switch, two OSD menu buttons, "S" and "M" buttons. The Hansol monitor's support stem and base are small in size, but there aren't any speakers for audio output. It uses less than 5 watts of power in Standby/Suspend/Off modes.
Viewed from an angle, the Hansol 520F's small base stand and support stem make it appear almost paper thin.

We tested the Hansol 520F 15-inch TFT LCD monitor using DisplayMate™ for Windows v.2.0 (Multimedia Edition). Resolution was set at 1024 x 768 dpi and color temperature at 93K with an optimal refresh rate of 75Hz. Geometry/color was auto-adjusted (see below).
The video card used in the system was the ASUS NVIDIA TNT2-64 with 32MB of onboard video RAM. We tested under standard office-lighting conditions (fluorescent ceiling tubes).
Setting up the proper monitor for optimum performance for testing purposes was done prior to the actual testing. We used DisplayMate™ v.2.0's recommended set-up adjustment procedure and advice.
Utilizing the monitor's OSD (onscreen display), we set the test parameters as follows: Auto Adjust, H-Position = ~5, V-Position = 1312, Phase = 60, Brightness =~80, and Contrast = ~40.
The 520F monitor's control buttons are slightly smallish yet adequate for quick OSD adjustments.

The first thing that catches your attention with the Hansol 520F 15-inch TFT LCD monitor is its sleek design. Although not really smaller than many of the competing models, the small base and thin support stem give the appearance of almost 'paper thin' aesthetics. The second notable feature is the green illumination of the main on/off button. While in standby/off mode, it is yellow-orange color.
Where the Hansol monitor excels is in both color and text display. Across all the DisplayMate™ patterns, the 520F zipped through the screens in terms of uniformity, saturation and clarity. We noticed that unlike many comparable TFT LCD panel in this price range, the Hansol contrast adjustment needed to be set at only ~35-45%. Many others need to be set at ~80% to get the same good contrast balance.
The only disadvantages for some is that the small base may tip over easily if bumped hard, but by strategically placing the unit to prevent such catastrophes, there should not be any problems. In addition, the Hansol 520F does not come with any built-in speakers for multimedia/video-conferencing/telephony.
The final aspect that will catch most potential buyers' attention is the low price of S$799. Well, worth the price if you are looking for a 15-inch TFT LCD panel.
Though the Hansol 520F TFT LCD monitor doesn't swivel, it has a wide viewing angle.

As one of the few IT products to receive a 5-star rating, the Hansol 520F 15-inch TFT LCD monitor should be a top consideration when shopping for a 15-inch TFT LCD monitor for business or SOHO use—users just need to route audio via their system's own external speakers which would sound better than those small 1-2 watt speakers found on LCD panels and some notebook PCs.
The Hansol 520F TFT LCD monitor sells for S$799 and comes with a two-year carry-in warranty (1st year parts and labor, 2nd year labor only).
